Snow

I probably should have posted this on Monday but never mind.....

It was lovely to wake up on Monday to find that I was going to have a white birthday.  It's not quite the same as a white Christmas but it was still fun.

Being as I work in an office all by myself most of the time, not many people said happy birthday to me during the day but I did keep checking on Facebook and my friends had posted birthday greetings, so that was great.

Then in the evening, I went over to Mum & Dad's for dinner and my sister, brother-in-law, and nephew came over too.  We had shepherd's pie and Hawaiian Suprise for dessert.  YUM.

I got home in time to watch "Miranda" so that was good too.

Glee

I didn't manage to see the first episode of the new series of "Glee" on Sunday, so I'm sitting here with it on now.  Please excuse me if I get a bit distracted .......  Oooh, it's turned into "Fame".

My pet insurance paid up for the claim I made after Minx got a grass blade stuck in his throat, so that was great; especially as I've had other big expenses recently having to get new brakes and tyres for my car and a new pair of glasses. 

It's no good - I know I'm a woman but I can't multitask while watching "Glee", so I'm going to end this blog entry and enjoy the show.

New Year - New Jo

I think we all start out the New Year with lots of 'new' plans and resolutions but if you are anything like me, they always seem to be the same New Year Resolutions as last year. This year I've decided to make New Month Resolutions; I started this idea last year and it worked really well.  I found they were easier to keep than trying to work out what I wanted to resolve to do for a whole year.

Last year was quite a strange year for me with having been made redundant in April and having had two boyfriends by the end of the year (unfortunately it didn't work out) so I am looking forward to finding out what 2013 has in store.  Hopefully though not another redundancy! However, it would be nice to find a long term man this year but I'm not holding my breath - maybe I'm a little too selfish and set in my ways but maybe God has other ideas?

It would be nice if I could extend my work skill set this year and learn better Excel and/or Powerpoint skills.  Plus I'm hoping if I am able to continue with blogging on a more regular basis, I may pick up some Wordpress experience as well. 

Welcome back

I thought it might be a good idea to start blogging again, so I thought I would see if I could still use my old Blogspot account and it seems I can.  Minx is sitting on me at the moment, so it would be easier to add a longer Blog later!

But in the meantime, HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Takeover

I thought I'd better drop another posting down. Monodraught have been bought by the Danish company VKR Holding, so that's good because it means my boss can finally retire! Also, it's nice to be part of something bigger.

Going to London tomorrow for Courage, so that'll be good. Then again next week to hear Roy Clements and he's always good.

Planning to go and see Pirates of the Caribbean (POC) this weekend but I hope I'm not disappointed. Didn't rate POC 2 highly.

It's been ages

I can't believe it's been so long since I've been blogging and I've been catching up with people's news by reading blogs, so I thought I'd better say "Hi". I hadn't realised it's IDAHO (International Day Against Homophobia) tomorrow but by reading Peterson's blog, I checked it out - what a great idea!

Saw "That'll be the Day" at Wycombe Swan last Friday. If you get a chance to catch one of their shows, it's well worth it.

New Year

Well I suppose it's not really new year anymore...... Thankfully, we can now stop saying "Happy New Year" to everyone! It's not that I don't wish people a happy new year but it does get very tiresome.

My boss is still away, which I'm really enjoying! Back to normality next week though.

I went to see "Alexander" on Saturday and I didn't enjoy it. It was an unecessary three hours long and the battle scenes were pretty disgusting!

Getting my nails done by Donna tonight, so I can have some long nails again until I break them off anyway! Hopefully, they stay on a bit longer than last time.

I can't believe "Robin Hood" is on at the end of next week - PANIC! I'm sure it will be alright on the night.

Going to Chinese EAMAYL in High Wycombe on Friday for my birthday meal.

John

A friend of mine called John died last Sunday. I found out on Tuesday at work and my colleagues coped brilliantly with me getting upset. Better than housegroup did on Wednesday, which is quite traumatic in itself!

I'm going on holiday next week to Manchester & Blackpool so I won't be able to attend the funeral but it will be so nice to get away! I really need a break.
